Writing a US Resume - How to Show What You Have to Offer

Writing a US Resume - How to Show What You Have to OfferWhen you're trying to write a US resume, you need to remember that it's no small feat. You are either going to stand out or be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of applicants. Whatever you do, make sure that you focus on making your resume grab attention and show some potential. After all, as long as you're applying for jobs, there's no reason for you not to show what you have to offer. In many cases, a US resume will stand out. For example, if you are a high school student or graduate, you can use a professional photo to draw the eye. Even a college graduate should look impressive on their resume. Of course, they still have to stand out from the crowd. The first thing you need to do when you're writing a US resume is start off with a strong introductory paragraph. Make sure that you outline your qualifications and achievements as a whole, rather than focusing on a single area. To make it easy on yourself, use the examples in your o wn life. Write about areas that you've dealt with that apply to the job you're applying for. When writing your resume, try to leave room for improvement. Don't be afraid to reach out to other areas to show your own potential and abilities. Your goal is to show that you are aware of the need for change in an organization and you are the kind of person who is willing to take charge and get things done.Be careful to avoid too much information on your US resume. Stick to a few facts. Don't cover up information because this will cause your reader to not trust you and it will make you look less professional.Use your skills to help you with the design of your US resume. You can display skills such as your knowledge of the job you're applying for, the kinds of skills you possess, and the other jobs you've held before. All of these provide additional information to your resume and allow your reader to see what makes you unique.A US resume should include all of the details that are relevant to the position that you're applying for. With this in mind, it will also be important to show what you've done in the past. Include a list of your achievements that show how far you've come as a person. This should include not only your accomplishments but also your successes and mistakes. After you finish your US resume, make sure that you proofread it for accuracy. This doesn't mean you need to send it back. You might only need to proofread a few things to make sure that everything is correct.

Introducing the Personal Network Report Card - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Introducing the Personal Network Report Card - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career In a post last year, I exclaimed that there is a strength pyramid for your personal network. I have developed a report card to take this strength model into account. 60% of corporate jobs are taken through networking, so I feel this is a vital tool to you and your personal brand. As you fill out this report card, note how much stronger a family connection is, from an acquaintance. This should tell you that developing relationships is critical to your career development. The probability that an acquaintance will recommend you to a hiring manager is slim, relative to that of a family member. The closer the connection, the more value that member of your network has and the more powerful you become. I say powerful because your network gives you the power to claim opportunities you normally wouldnt have viewed otherwise. Your goal is to increase your network and the total value of your network, at the same time. Remember to not share this report card or contact information of your network to anyone. This is your personal tool, not theirs and although you might use it to help others, it is best kept to you.   As you grow and develop, so will your network and the strength of your network.   The key is that, while your growing and maturing, your network will be increasing their network.   You want your network to connect with others as well because that will help you broaden out.

Gratitude

Gratitude As we head into Thanksgiving, I feel it is important to reflect on what we are grateful for. Sometimes, it is too easy to focus on i.e., obsess over, the negative. Sit down with pen and paper and begin to list the people in your life for which you are thankful. What comes to mind? Can you specifically state why you have listed these people? Now ask, what can you do for any of them. Taking the focus off of yourself and your own situation has a wonderful way of keeping things in perspective. And really, what good is it to get angry, frustrated, discouraged over you current situation? Does that help? Do you feel better? So, you have nothing to lose in trying this. Several people have mentioneda Gratitude Journal to me in the past year as a way to stay focused on the positive. The idea is to record daily what/who you are grateful for. Maybe it is time to begin keeping mine. Our brains tend to first recall the trauma or negative experiences in our lives. Reprogramming this thinking is said to be very benefitial. Ivebeen thinking a lot about our economy, as I am sure you have too. Things dont look good. However, I am grateful for aloving husband, two healthy and active boys, all the friends in my life and of course,FAMILY. No matter what happens: food lines, massive unemployment,or whatever crash needs to happen, these special people will be there for me. I will be forced to reach out in ways I may never have been able to before basedon my necessity to refocus on the positive. Theres an old saying that which does not kill us, makes us stronger. Cheers, heres to strength!
